परंपरा आणि आधुनिकता - एक सुवर्णमध्य (५) {Cultural Traditions and Modernization - A Golden Mean (5)}

घरातील देवपूजा असो किंवा मोठे सणवार, मनातील भक्तीभाव खूप महत्त्वाचा असतो. कोणत्याही प्रकारचे धार्मिक विधी कसे करायचे हे त्यांचा उद्देश आणि मनातील भावनेवर ठरतात. आज अनेक विधी, सणवार कसे साजरे करायचे याबद्दल दुमत आढळतं कारण त्यांचा उद्देश पूर्णपणे माहित नसल्याने विधींमध्ये बदल घडवला गेला नाही. जर असे बदल घडवले तर त्या विधींचं फळ मिळणार नाही असा एक समज आहे. मूळ उद्देशाला धक्का न लावता जर विधी काळानुसार बदलले तर त्यात काही अडचण येण्याची शक्यता नाही. पण यासाठी लागणारी जागरूकता अजूनही आपल्या समाजात आली नाही हे सत्य नाकारता येणार नाही. 

मी मागील लेखात लिहिल्याप्रमाणे कोणत्याही विधीचं मूळ समजून घेतलं तर तो विधी छोट्या किंवा मोठ्या प्रमाणावर योग्य पद्धतीने करून फळ नक्कीच मिळेल. उदाहरणार्थ मूर्तिपूजा घरात छोट्या प्रमाणावरही होते आणि गणेशोत्सवासारख्या मोठ्या पातळीवरही होते. मूर्ती हे गणपती ह्या दैवताकडून ऊर्जा मिळवण्याचं एक माध्यम मात्र आहे. तितक्याच भक्तीभावाने आपण मूर्ती समोर न ठेवता साधना केली तरी गणेशाकडून ऊर्जा मिळणारच आहे. मात्र त्यासाठी अध्यात्माच्या पुढील पातळीवर जाण्याची गरज आहे. कोणत्याही दैवताला विशिष्ट फूल का आणि कसं वाहायचं याची माहिती मिळाल्यास त्यामागील शास्त्रीय कारण समजून येईल. अशा अनेक छोट्या गोष्टींमागील कारणं समजून घेतल्यास त्याचा उपयोग मोठ्या प्रमाणावरील विधींसाठी वा सणवारासाठी करता येईल. तसंच ह्या विधींचा उद्देश समजून घेता आला तर कालबाह्य पद्धती मोडून नवीन पद्धती स्वीकारता येतील. जे बदल आज आवश्यक वाटतात ते काही वर्षांनी लागू पडतील असं नाही. म्हणून कोणत्याही विधीचा अट्टहास न धरता उद्देश साध्य करण्यासाठी जे बदल गरजेचे आहेत ते निश्चितच आमलात आणले गेले पाहिजेत. येणाऱ्या पिढयांना या विधींमागील उद्देश समजावून सांगण्यासाठी ते आपल्यालाही समजून घेता यायला हवेत. त्यानंतर सुसंवाद साधून यातून मार्ग निश्चित काढता येईल.  

काळानुरूप बदल म्हणजे नेमकं काय करायचं? तर आजच्या पिढीकडे कमी असलेला वेळ आणि मनुष्यबळ याचा विचार करून विधींमध्ये योग्य असे बदल घडवता येतील. मी मागील एका लेखात लिहिल्यानुसार अनेक विधींची सामुग्री आज उपलब्ध नाही. अशा वेळी त्याला पर्याय शोधला जायला हवा. अनेक शास्त्रोक्त ग्रंथांचं भाषांतर करताना आजच्या काळानुसार शब्द वापरले गेले तरच ते ग्रंथ नवीन पिढीला वाचावेसे वाटतील. कोणतीही अतिशयोक्ती न करता आणि अट्टहास न धरता विधी सांगितले जायला हवेत. अनेकदा नवीन पिढीतील वाचक अशी पुस्तकं वाचतात पण कठीण विधींना कोणताही दुसरा पर्याय उपलब्ध नसल्याने ते विधी किंवा उपाय केलेच जात नाहीत. किंबहुना त्याबद्दलची माहिती नीट वाचली जात नाही. अध्यात्म, ज्योतिषशास्त्र किंवा वास्तूशास्त्र यांना न मानणे ही आधुनिकता समजली जाते. आपल्या संस्कृतीतील इतक्या शास्त्रोक्त गोष्टी जेव्हा परदेशात लोकप्रिय होतात तेव्हाच आपली नवीन पिढी तिकडे वळते. असं होऊ नये यासाठी नवीन पिढीला या शास्त्रांची तत्त्वं समजावून सांगून विचार करण्यास वेळ द्यावा. जेव्हा मनापासून ही शास्त्रं अवलंबिली जातील तेव्हाच त्यांचा खरा उद्देश साध्य होईल.

It may be daily worshiping or celebrating festivals, devotion is the most important factor. The protocols of divine rituals depend on the aim of the ritual and emotions of the worshipers. As many people are still not fully aware of the aim of the rituals, they hesitate to make any alterations in the protocols. This creates differences in the opinions. They think that the slightest alteration in the protocols of the rituals will not give results. Practically speaking if these alterations are made without affecting the aim of the ritual it should not create any problem. Sadly our society is not so open minded to accept these changes.  

As I mentioned in my previous article if we understand the aim of the rituals they can be properly performed on smaller or bigger scales with maximum effect. For example idol worshiping is performed at domestic level as well as in festivals like Lord Ganesha festival. The idol is just a medium to receive energy and positive frequencies from the deity. If Lord Ganesha is worshiped with full devotion and and dedication the worshiper will definitely get the energy from him irrespective of the idolatry. What it needs is the higher level in spirituality. If we understand the reason behind the offerings like different flowers to different deities,  we will come to know about the scientific base of this ritual. If all such small rituals are understood from the scientific point of view, they can be applied to bigger rituals or festivals. Also some old or obsolete rituals can be replaced with altered protocols. We should also note that the alterations applicable today may not be valid after some years. So rather than rigidly sticking to old protocols, the necessary alterations should be made and accepted with an open mind. If we want our new generation to understand the base of these rituals it is necessary that the earlier generation should know the principles behind our rituals. Then only with consonance the two generation can work on it with cohesion to find a golden mean.  

The question still remains that how can we find a golden mean? As we can observe that today's generation has less time and manpower due to nuclear family system. Then the alteration in the rituals can be made accordingly. I also mentioned in one of my earlier articles that the contents recommended in original protocols of the rituals may not be available today. In such cases some substitutes should be found out. Many texts are translated using old terminology, which should be changed according to time. The rituals should be written in a new format without any exaggeration and obstinacy. Some times readers from new generation do read the texts but due to lack of plausible theories the rituals are not performed. Rather I should say that the information is not read to full extent. Following spirituality, astrology or vastushastra is considered as a sign of orthodox or conservative behaviour. When the theories from these sacred texts become popular in western countries then only our new generation starts appreciating them. Thus the new generation should be made aware of the principles and scientific approach of our traditions. We should also give them enough time to think upon it and accept the traditions by understanding them and not by force.The goal of these sacred texts will be achieved when our traditions and shastras will be accepted unfeignedly.

वास्तूशास्त्र आणि त्यासंबंधित काही मुख्य विधींबद्दल मी आधीच्या लेखांत माहिती दिली. घरामधे नियमित होणारी देवपूजा, व्रत वैकल्य, सणवार ह्याबद्दलही अनेक मतभेद आहेत. ह्या सर्व विधींमागील उद्देश आणि तत्त्वं समजून घेतली तर गरजेनुसार यांत बदल करून कोणतेही विधी व्यवस्थित पार पाडता येतील. 

घरात देव्हारा कसा असावा, देवांच्या मूर्ती किंवा प्रतिमा कशा ठेवाव्यात याची संपूर्ण माहिती शास्त्रीय ग्रंथांत मिळते. मुख्य प्रश्न असतो तो उद्देशाचा. मूर्तिपूजा हा तांत्रिक शाखेतील भाग असल्याने वैयक्तिक पातळीवर याचा उपयोग जास्त फलदायी ठरतो. वैदिक काळात देवतेलाकोणतंही मूर्त स्वरूप न देता आराधना केली जात असे. तंत्र शाखेत देवतांच्या गुणांनुसार त्यांना मूर्त रूप दिलं गेलं. देवतेची मूर्ती समोर ठेवण्याचं प्रमुख कारण म्हणजे मनाची एकाग्रता साधणे. प्रत्येक व्यक्तीला मन एकाग्र करून ध्यान धारणा करणं शक्य नाही. जर देवतेच्या इष्ट रूपातील मूर्ती समोर असेल तर मन त्या शक्तीवर एकाग्र करून आराधना करणं सोपं जातं. अध्यात्मात मूर्तीवर लक्ष एकाग्र करणे ही साधकाची पहिली पायरी आहे. त्यानंतर अध्यात्मात प्रगती साधून कोणत्याही मूर्ती शिवाय मानसिक उपासना करता येते. आपल्या संस्कृतीत मूर्तिपूजा अजिबात बंधनकारक नाही तर ती उपासनेची सुरुवातीची पातळी आहे. म्हणूनच मूर्तिपूजेचं कोणतंही अवडंबर न करता मनापासून इष्ट देवतेची उपासना केली तरी फळ मिळतंच. यासाठी आपल्या इष्ट देवतेची मूर्ती किंवा प्रतिमा देव्हाऱ्यात ठेवताना आपली उपासना कोणत्या प्रकारची आहे याचा विचार करून निर्णय घ्यावा. 

जर चराचरात देव आहे तर देवतेची मूर्ती किंवा प्रतिमा ठेवणं गरजेचं आहे का? असाही एक प्रश्न नेहमी येतो. संपूर्ण पृथ्वीवर पाणी आहे पण कोणत्याही ठिकाणचं पाणी पिण्यायोग्य नसतं. त्यासाठी पाणी शुद्ध करणं गरजेचं असतं. तसंच चराचरात देव असला तरी त्याची ऊर्जा ही विशिष्ट रूपातच मिळते. म्हणून देवतेची मूर्ती समोर असल्यास अध्यात्माच्या सुरुवातीच्या पातळीवर फळ मिळतं. मूर्तिपूजा हा ईश्वराच्या उपासनेचा केवळ एक भाग आहे. "न देवो विद्यते काष्ठे न पाषाणे न मृण्मये, भावे हि विद्यते देवस्तस्माद्भावो हि कारणम् - या उक्तीनुसार देव हा लाकडात किंवा मातीमधे नसतो, तर भक्ती भावात असतो.  

घरातील नियमित देवपूजा हा सुद्धा उपासनेचाच एक भाग. आपण रोज स्नान करून कामाला सुरुवात करतो तसंच कोणत्याही देवतेच्या मूर्तीलाही स्वच्छ ठेवून प्रसन्न मनानं पूजा करावी. देवतेचा योग्य मान राखला जावा म्हणून देवपूजा करताना देवाच्या मूर्तीला पाण्याने स्वच्छ करणं, सर्व सोपस्कार करून वंदन करणं असे काही विधी आहेत. प्रत्येक देवतेसाठी असलेली वेगळी फुलं ही फुलांच्या रंग आणि रासायनिक गुणांवर आधारीत आहेत, जेणेकरून साधकालादेवतेची मूर्तीमधील तरंगरूपी ऊर्जा (पवित्रक) ग्रहण करता येईल. उदाहरणार्थ गणपतीला  जास्वंदीचं लाल फुल वाहिलं जातं. तेव्हा त्याचं देठ गणपतीकडे करून मग ते फूल त्याच्या चरणावर वाहावं. लाल रंगात आकर्षिली जाणारी ऊर्जा गणपतीच्या मूर्तीकडून साधकाकडे येते. गणपती ह्या देवतेची ऊर्जा इतर रंगांच्या फुलांपेक्षा लाल रंगाच्या फुलांमध्ये जास्त आकर्षिली जाते यासाठी गणपतीला लाल फूल आवडतं असा एक समाज निर्माण केला गेला आहे. अशा प्रकारे देवपूजनातील काही गोष्टींची तत्त्वं समजून घेतली तर त्या गोष्टी शास्त्रोक्त आहेत हे पटेल. 

घरात नियमित देव पूजन झालं तर देवतेची ऊर्जा घरात पसरते आणि वातावरण पवित्र राहतं. काही कारणामुळे नित्य नियमित विधिवत पूजन शक्य नसेल तर देवतेची मानसिक आराधना केली तरीही त्याची फळं मिळतात. त्याखेरीज आपलं चांगलं वर्तन, आपण करत असलेल्या कामाबद्दल निष्ठा आणि गरजू व्यक्तींना केलेली मदत ही सुद्धा ईश्वरसेवाच आहे. त्यामुळे नियमित देवपूजा व संध्याकाळची दिवेलागणी वेळेअभावी शक्य नसल्यास त्यामुळे काही अशुभ घडेल असं अजिबात नाही. पण घरात देव देवतांच्या मूर्ती किंवा प्रतिमा असतील तर त्यांची स्वच्छता राखावी. त्यावर धूळ किंवा घाण बसणार नाही याची काळजी घ्यावी. 

स्त्रियांनी मासिक धर्माच्या वेळी देवाची कोणतीही उपासना करू नये किंवा देवळात जाऊ नये असाही एक समज आहे. यामागे स्त्रियांना शारीरिक विश्रांती देणे आणि मासिक धर्माच्या वेळी कोणत्याही देवतेच्या ऊर्जेमुळे शारीरिक त्रास होऊ नये एवढाच शास्त्रीय भाग आहे. मातृत्वासाठी जी गोष्ट निसर्गानेच स्त्रीला दिली आहे त्यामुळे स्त्री अशुद्ध होते असा अतिरेक करणं हे निव्वळ अवडंबर आहे. स्त्रीने या काळात पूजा केल्यास कोणतीही अनिष्ट गोष्ट घडणार नाही. पूर्वी एकत्र कुटुंब पद्धती होती व स्त्रियांवर घरातील कामांच्या खूप जबाबदाऱ्या होत्या. म्हणून मासिक धर्म असताना त्यांना शारीरिक श्रम पडू नयेत यासाठी विश्रांती दिली जात असे. तेव्हा घरातील इतर स्त्रिया कामाची जबाबदारी घेत असत. आताच्या काळात अशा गोष्टी करणं शक्य नाही. मासिक धर्म ही अशुद्धता नाही तर शरीरातील नको असलेल्या गोष्टींचा विसर्ग करण्याची नैसर्गिक प्रक्रिया आहे. म्हणून याचा कोणताही विपरीत अर्थ न घेता त्या काळात शारीरिक श्रमांवर मर्यादा आणल्यास स्त्रीला तिच्या प्रकृतीनुसार विश्रांती मिळू शकेल. मात्र याचा देवपूजनाशी संबंध जोडू नये. उलट या काळात स्त्रीला कोणत्याही कामात घरातील व्यक्तींनी मदत केल्यास ते जास्त योग्य ठरेल.

In my previous article I tried to explain the importance of Vastushastra and its applications. There are also some differences of opinions in daily rituals, worshiping of Gods and rituals in festivals. If we understand the principles behind these rituals, then it will be possible to make some alterations and perform the rituals.

Some authentic texts give information about how to keep a pooja ghar (chapel) at home and keep idols/photos of the deities in the pooja ghar. The most important thing to be understood is the aim of idolatry. Idolatry comes under the Tantra sect so it is more fruitful at individual level. In Vedic tradition there was no personification of any deity for worshiping. Tantra tradition emphasized on the personification of Gods. The main reason behind keeping an idol in front of the worshiper is to gain the concentration. Every worshiper can not concentrate the mind for worshiping or meditation. If an idol of the desired deity is put in front of the worshiper it becomes easy to get rid of other thoughts and concentrate on worshiping. In spirituality idolatry is just the first step to begin the meditation. In later stages it is possible to meditate without any medium like idol or photo of the deity. In Hinduism idolatry is not at all compulsory in fact it is the beginning. Thus rather than ostentation in idolatry, the deity should be worshiped with dedication and concentration to get desired results. If a pooja ghar or idols are to be kept at home then one should be clear about the concept of worshiping.  

If God is everywhere then why any idol or photo of God is required? Lets try and understand this. Earth is full of water. But we can not drink water from any water source like sea or pond. We need to purify the water and then we can consume it. Similarly, God is present everywhere but we need some medium to receive the energy in specific form. So an idol is recommended in the initial stages of meditation to receive the energy. Idolatry is just a part of worshiping. According to a text "God is not present in wood or stone, but he is there in the devotee's mind. After all it is the devotion which matters.

The daily worshiping of God is also a part of this devotion. We start our day by taking bath and getting cleaned. Similarly if idols are kept in the pooja ghar we should keep them clean. The rituals like cleaning the idols with fresh water, poojan and taking the blessings are recommended so the worshipers will not only give respect to this form of God but the cleansing of the idols and the surroundings will keep the mind pure. The type of flowers to be offered to the deity also depend on the flower's colour and chemical nature, which helps to transfer the frequencies (pavitrak) from the deity to the worshiper. For example red Hibiscus flower is offered to Lord Ganesha. The frequencies from the idol of Lord Ganesha are absorbed by red flower with maximum effect. This effect is not achieved by other coloured flower. The Hibiscus flower has to be offered with it's stem facing the idol which absorbs the frequencies and emits it from the front part which are received by the worshiper. Thus it is mentioned in the texts that Lord Ganesha likes red flowers. If such aspects of rituals are studied then it will be easy to understand that these rituals are based on natural principles. 

The daily worshiping of Gods emits positive frequencies and maintains the purity of the environment. If physical worshiping is not possible on daily basis, mental worshiping will also give positive results. Along with this our good behaviour, devotion towards work and helping the needy people is also a form of God worshiping. So if daily worshiping is not possible it will not create any ill effect per se. If idols of Gods are kept at home then it is advisable to keep them clean and tidy.           

Females are forbidden to worship God or get involved in any rituals during menstruation. The actual reason behind this forced isolation is to give women physical rest and avoid any effect like heat due to energies from worshiping. To consider menstruation which is a blessing given for motherhood as impurity is mere ostentation. Doing any divine rituals during menstruation will not create any ill effects. The origin of this forced isolation lies in the era where joint family system existed. Females had a lot of responsibilities at home. So during menstruation they were isolated to take rest and avoid physical stress. Other females from the family used to take the responsibilities on their shoulders. This is not possible in today's system of nuclear families. Menstruation is not an 'impurity' but it is a biological process to excrete unwanted material. So rather than misinterpreting it as 'impurity' women should take rest by understanding the natural reason behind it. It should not be related to any divine ritual. Rather it will be logical that in this period the family members share the work and let the females take rest.

बाधिक वास्तू म्हणल्यावर सामान्यतः मनात एक भीती असते. ऐकीव माहितीवरून बाधिक वास्तूंबद्दल अनेक समज - गैरसमज आहेत. एखादी वास्तू बाधिक आहे किंवा तिथे पारलौकिक शक्तींचा प्रभाव आहे असं म्हटलं जातं तेव्हा सगळ्यात आधी त्याची सत्यता पडताळून पाहणं गरजेचं आहे. वास्तू बाधिक होणं म्हणजे त्या वास्तूला काही अतृप्त किंवा वाईट वृत्तीच्या योनींमधील आत्म्यांची बाधा होणं. प्रामुख्याने अनैसर्गिक वा अपमृत्यू झालेल्या व्यक्ती, प्रबळ इच्छाशक्ती असलेल्या व्यक्ती आणि अभिचार कर्मं करणाऱ्या व्यक्तींना अशा योनी मृत्यूनंतर प्राप्त होतात. अर्थात अशा प्रत्येक व्यक्तीला मृत्यूनंतर जिवंत व्यक्तींना त्रास देण्याची शक्ती असतेच असं नाही. कधी कधी अभिचार कर्मं करणारे तांत्रिक अशा आत्म्यांना वशीभूत करून घेतात. ज्या वास्तूत अशा आत्म्यांचा जीव अडकलेला असतो, प्रबळ भावना असतात उदा: राग, बदला घेणे  इत्यादी किंवा माहितगार तंत्रिकांनी एखाद्या वास्तूच्या अकल्याणासाठी अशा आत्म्यांचा वापर केलेला असतो अशा वास्तू बाधिक असतात. ज्या जागांमध्ये हत्या/सार्वजनिक हत्या, अनेक व्यक्तींचा छळ, आत्महत्या अशा गोष्टी घडल्या आहेत त्या जागांवर बांधल्या गेलेल्या वास्तूंमध्ये पारलौकिक शक्तींचा प्रभाव जाणवतो. ज्या योनींमध्ये अशी शक्ती आहे अशाच योनीतील आत्मे त्रास देऊ शकतात. त्यामुळे ज्या वास्तूत पूर्वी वाईट प्रसंग घडले आहेत तिथे बाधा असेलच असं म्हणता येणार नाही. जगात आजवर अनेक व्यक्तींचे अपमृत्यु झाले आहेत. प्रत्येक अपमृत्यु झालेली व्यक्ती पिशाच्च किंवा तत्सम योनीत अडकून त्रास देत नाही.                

जेव्हा एखादी वास्तू बाधिक आहे असं म्हटलं जातं तेव्हा कधीकधी ती प्रसिद्धी साठी केलेली जाहिरात असते किंवा त्या वास्तूमधील लोकांना येणारे विचित्र अनुभव हे त्यांच्यातील मानसिक रोग किंवा अंधश्रद्धेमुळे एखाद्या घटनेचा चुकीचा अर्थ काढल्यामुळे निर्माण झालेले गैरसमज असतात. म्हणून याची शहानिशा करून घेताना एखाद्या वास्तूचा/जमिनीचा भूतकाळ कसा आहे हे पाहतानाच तेथे येणारे अनुभव हे इतर कोणत्या कारणाने येत नाहीत ना याची खात्री पटल्यावरच याबाबतीत मतं मांडता येऊ शकतील. अनेकदा वास्तूमधे राहताना आधी कोणतेही विचित्र अनुभव येत नाहीत किंबहुना कोणत्याही विचित्र अनुभवाचा संदर्भ पारलौकिक शक्तींशी लावला जात नाही. पण जेव्हा ती वास्तू बाधिक आहे असं सांगितलं जातं त्यानंतर अनेक गोष्टींचा संबंध पारलौकिक शक्तींशी लावला जातो. आपल्या मनात असलेल्या भीतीमुळे अशी मानसिकता तयार होते. याचा फायदा घेऊन काहीवेळा अंधश्रद्धांना खतपाणी घातलं जातं. म्हणून अशा प्रकारची कोणतीही माहिती मिळाल्यास आपले अनुभव खरंच पारलौकिक शक्तींमुळे येत आहेत की आपल्याकडून काही गोष्टींकडे दुर्लक्ष झाल्यामुळे त्या गोष्टी आपल्या लक्षात आल्या नाहीत याचं नीट परीक्षण करूनच पुढील निर्णय घ्यावेत. याचं आणखी एक कारण म्हणजे काही अनुभव विज्ञानाच्या माध्यमातून समजून घेता येत नाहीत. जगातील कोणतंही विज्ञान निसर्ग, विश्व, मानवी शरीर, प्राणिमात्र यांचा संपूर्ण अभ्यास करू शकलेलं नाही. काही अज्ञात असलेल्या गोष्टींचा भविष्यात नवीन शोध लागल्यावर अर्थ लावता येऊही शकेल. पण सध्याचं विज्ञान याचं स्पष्टीकरण देऊ शकत नाही म्हणून त्याचा सरळसरळ पारलौकिक गोष्टींशी संबंध लावणं गैर आहे. अभिचार कर्मांमुळे वास्तूमध्ये जो त्रास होतो त्याचीही विज्ञानाशी सांगड घालता येत नाही. पण या सगळ्याचा अर्थ लावताना कोणत्याही अंधश्रद्धेच्या आहारी जाऊ नये.           

वास्तू खरंच बाधिक असेल तर ती कशी ओळखायची? तर वास्तूमध्ये मनःशांती कधीच मिळत नाही, उत्कर्ष होत नाही. तसंच घरातील लहान मुलं अनेक विचित्र अनुभव सांगतात किंवा विचित्र वागतात. घरातील व्यक्तींमध्ये आळस अकारण वाढतो, रोग होतात ज्याचं निदान होत नाही. घरातील लोकांना विचित्र स्वप्नं पडतात, विचित्र आवाज येतात व भास होतात, घरातली विजेची उपकरणं अचानक चालू किंवा बंद होतात. अशी लक्षणं जेव्हा दिसतात तेव्हा वास्तू बाधिक असू शकते. अभिचार कर्मांमुळे बाधिक झालेल्या वास्तूमध्ये अभिचार कर्मानुसार अनुभव येतात. अशा घरातील व्यक्ती कधी अचानक मृत्यू पावतात, वंश क्षय होतो किंवा काही व्यक्ती अतिमानवी शक्ती असल्यासारख्या वागतात. या सगळ्या लक्षणांचा विचार केला तर एक गोष्ट लक्षात येईल की यातील  काही लक्षणं मानसिक रोगांची आहेत तर काही वेळा आपल्याच चुकीमुळे घरातील उपकरणं बिघडलेली असतात. काही रोग सवयींमुळे होतात तर काही निकृष्ट अन्नामुळे होतात. या सर्व गोष्टींची शहानिशा झाल्यावर जेव्हा कोणत्याही प्रकारे अशा अनुभवांचं उत्तर मिळत नाही तेव्हा वास्तू बाधिक आहे असं म्हणता येईल. याबद्दलचं पूर्ण ज्ञान असणाऱ्या व्यक्तीकडूनच याची खात्री करून घ्यावी. मात्र खात्री करताना एक गोष्ट ध्यानात असावी की पारलौकिक शक्तींचा अनुभव कोणत्याही वैज्ञानिक कसोटीवरून तपासता येत नाही. त्या वास्तूमध्ये सतत आलेले अनुभव आणि सर्व शक्यता पडताळून पाहून मगच याचा सारांश निघू शकतो. 

वास्तू बाधिक आहे हे सिद्ध झालं तर त्यावर उपाय नक्कीच आहेत जे सावधतेने अवलंबावेत. वैदिक आणि तांत्रिक शाखांमध्ये यावर अनेक उपाय दिलेले आहेत, ज्यांचा उल्लेख वास्तुशास्त्रातही होतो. कोणत्या प्रकारची बाधा आहे त्यानुसार होम, मंत्र पठण, पूजा, तांत्रिक उपाय अशा अनेक मार्गांनी यातून सुटका होऊ शकते. कधी कधी अशी बाधा फारशी शक्ती नसलेल्या काही योनींमुळे होते. अशा वेळी घरात नित्यनियमित देवपूजन, शुद्ध विचार आणि आचार यामुळेही अशी बाधा सहज दूर होते. अभिचार कर्मं तांत्रिक शाखेत येत असल्याने यामुळे झालेल्या बाधांचे उपाय तांत्रिक असतात आणि ते योग्य व्यक्तींनाच ठाऊक असतात. जर अशी कोणतीही बाधा असेल तर कुठल्याही जाहिरातीला बळी न पडता योग्य व्यक्तीचा सल्ला घ्यावा. पारलौकिक शक्तींमध्ये काही अशा शक्ती आहेत ज्यांच्या बाधेवर उतारा होत नाही. उदाहरणार्थ ब्राह्मसमंध ही अशी एक योनी आहे ज्याच्या बाधेवर फारसे उतारे उपलब्ध नाहीत. अशा वेळी मात्र ती वास्तू सोडून दुसऱ्या वास्तूत वास्तव्य करणं हेच योग्य ठरतं.            .                 

आजच्या पिढीला बाधिक वास्तू असणं हे थोतांड वाटतं कारण पारलौकिक शक्तींचे अनुभव वैज्ञानिक कसोटीतून सिद्ध करणं कठीण जातं. दुसरं कारण म्हणजे केवळ भारतातच नव्हे तर संपूर्ण जगात अनेक वास्तू 'बाधिक' आहेत आणि त्यावर केवळ धार्मिक उपाय करून उतारा केला गेला असं अनेक ठिकाणी वाचनात येतं. पारलौकिक शक्तींबद्दल अतिशयोक्तीपूर्ण लिखाण, वाहिन्यांवरील कार्यक्रम किंवा चित्रपटांमधील अतिरंजित चित्रण यामुळे याबद्दलची शास्त्रोक्त माहिती मिळत नाही. म्हणूनच कोणताही अतिरेक न करता व अंधश्रद्धेच्या आहारी न जाता बाधिक वास्तूंची माहिती दिल्यास ती नवीन पिढीला नक्कीच पटेल. तसंच योग्य  मार्गांचा अवलंब करून आपल्या वास्तूची पवित्रता राखता येईल.

The term haunted or possessed location usually creates a fear in our minds. Generally this kind of information is derived according to hearsay. So whenever any location is supposed to be haunted then it must be verified.  A location is haunted means it is infested by unsatisfied spirits or souls from evil yoni (realms), commonly known as ghosts. Mostly people who die untimely or unnaturally, who have extremely strong willpower and people doing abhichara karma enter into these troublesome yonis after death. Of course not all such people gain the powers to trouble living beings after death. Some times Tantriks doing fearsome sadhanas enchant weak spirits and exploit them to trouble others. Mostly the locations get haunted by following reasons. (a) When souls of the people who were residing in the location are still emotionally entangled (b) When people residing in the location have very strong feelings of rage/revenge and die suddenly with unfulfilled desires and (c) When some Tantriks exploit the souls to harm the location. The structures constructed on locations where foul or evil incidences like mass killings, tortures, murders or suicides have occurred are usually prone to paranormal activities. Only the souls from powerful yonis can harm the livings beings. So every location with such gory history can not be labelled as haunted or possessed. Many people in the world have met their untimely ends, but all such souls do not have powers to infest a location. 

Some times when locations are said to be haunted it is merely a publicity stunt. In some cases the weird experiences in the locations are the result of unusual behaviour of a person due to psychological disorders (psychotic episodes) which is interpreted from a superstitious point of view. Thus to confirm whether a location is really haunted, the history of the location is as important as to check whether the weird experiences are not caused due to any other reason. Some times people do not experience any weird incidences in the beginning, in fact I should say they don't relate the weird incidences with paranormal activities. But when they come to know that the place is haunted then they start relating every incidence with paranormal activities. The fear created by the hearsay can develop such kind of views and ultimately superstitions. So if any information regarding paranormal activities is given it should be verified whether the suspicious experiences are really due to infestation of souls/spirits or it is wrong interpretation due to negligence. One more reason is some weird experiences can not be understood using scientific criteria. The modern science has not discovered nature, space, human body or animals to full extent. New discoveries in future may provide scientific explanation for the things which are unknown today. But relating any such experience to paranormal activities due to lack of information is not advisable. The experiences caused in some locations due to Abhichar Karmas also can not be understood by scientific criteria. While interpreting any such experience, superstitions should be avoided. 

How to confirm whether a location is haunted? Well, in such location the residents are derived of mental peace and prosperity. Also small children in the house behave oddly or get some weird experiences. The elders feel lethargic without any significant reason or fall ill where proper diagnose is not obtained. The people get nightmares, hear weird sounds, get illusions or electric appliances suddenly start or stop working. These or similar symptoms may tell that the place is haunted. The places infested due to abhichar karmas may show the symptoms according to the ritual performed. Some of the symptoms are sudden death of a family member, stillbirths or some times a person in the family behaves like a superhuman with odd powers. If we consider all the above symptoms it is very necessary to keep in mind while interpreting that many of the symptoms are of psychological disorders. Or sometimes due to manual mishandling the electrical appliances do not work properly. Similarly some health issues occur due to addictions, bad eating habits or non nutritional food. When all these possibilities are considered and still there is no answer for any bad incidences then it can be confirmed that the place is haunted. For confirmation advise should be taken from a knowledgeable authority. It should also be noted that these symptoms of paranormal activities can not be defined by scientific criteria. The recurrent experiences and consideration of all other possibilities will only help to come to any conclusion. 

If it is confirmed that a location is haunted then there are certain remedies which can be followed with caution. Vedic and Tantric both sects provide some remedies which are also mentioned in Vastushastra. Depending on the type of infestation the remedies like homa, mantra, poojan or Tantric remedies can be followed. In some cases certain souls/spirits which are less powerful infest a location. In such cases daily worshiping of God, good behaviour and calm mind can help to get rid of them. Abhichar karmas come under Tantra tradition, so the well trained authority from Tantra tradition only knows the remedies on infestations caused by abhichar karmas. If any such infestation is confirmed then advise should be taken from an authority and falling prey to any advertisement should be avoided.  There are some kind of yonis or spirits which are so powerful that no remedy can help to get rid of them e.g. Brahmasamandh. In such cases leaving that place is advisable. 

Today's generation thinks that infestation of a place or haunted location is a hoax. The reason behind this is paranormal activities can not be proved on the basis of modern science. Secondly all over the world it is advertised that many places are haunted and the infestation was cleared with the help of religious remedies. This kind of advertisement sounds unthinkable. Exaggerated writings and television shows on paranormal activities or overstated presentations in films create misunderstandings rather than giving proper information on paranormal activities. If the factual information is provided without any superstitious view, the new generation will definitely understand and accept it. Also if proper remedies are followed in any place or house it's sacredness can be maintained.
